What We do
The Edge headquarters are in LRC 250 and we are hoping to renovate them soon.
The Edge currently has 4 staff members: Editor in Chief, Two staff Writers, and a Marketing Manager.
The Edge is switching to a submission model! Students can submit articles or article ideas and Edge staff will work with them to get them edited and published. We are currently working with SIB and the Business office to figure out the best ways to reward students for publication.
The Edge publishes every other week on Wednesdays.

Our (Recent) History
The Edge lost nearly all it's staff between 2019 and 2022. From what we can tell and piece together, The Edge has been Oregon Tech's newspaper in some form and other at least one different name for over 30 years. We have awards dating from the late 80s to the early 2000s.
It seems like all staff either graduated or moved on from the Edge in 2019, but we aren't fully sure what happened. After that, the Edge went out of print because of COVID and students being off campus or under COVID protocols. The Edge also moved locations in this time to where they are now in the LRC. The Edge didn't really recover from that year.
Sometime between 2021 and 2022 we gained a new Editor-In-Chief, but they were unable to dedicate the time needed to fully revive the Edge and their team rarely visited or invested time into the new offices. Since then the Edge has posted somewhat regularly, but has struggled due to a lack of solid leadership structure and a small staff. Because of these reasons, the Edge is working to shift from historical models of staff writers to student submitted articles to help better bond with the OT community. Additionally, the Edge is now directly under SIB's advisement with a professor there to advise on articles and article structure.
The Edge office space doubled just last week (February 21st, 2024) and an order has been put in for furniture to refurnish the space.
